Sumner Chimney Cleaning, Inspection and Repair

Sweep Regularly For A Safe System

According to the National Fire Protection Association, homeowners should have their chimney inspected and swept annually to keep a safe and efficient system. Our Sumner chimney cleaning technicians inspect, sweep, install, and maintain these fireplace systems, diagnose chimney performance issues, describe changes for performance improvement and educate the customer about safe and efficient operation of fireplace venting systems. We serve Sumner and the entire Seattle / Tacoma area.

There are two basic types of fireplaces; a masonry fireplace and factory-built fireplace. A Masonry fireplace is a classic brick or stone chimney with mortar. A factory-built fireplace is typically a lightweight metal firebox with a metal chimney. Our chimney inspections and chimney cleaning go hand in hand; our technicians always provide an 18-point inspection with our chimney cleanings. Fireplace and Chimney Repair

Our Methods

When our technicians arrive to clean your chimney the first thing we do is greet our customers and enter the home to lay our drop cloths around the fireplace, shut the damper and inspect the firebox. We then go to the roof and inspect from the roofline up and sweep the chimney down. Then we go back inside with a vacuum and a throat brush. Next we open the damper and brush out the throat and the smoke shelf, the damper housing and fireplace walls and firebox. After the chimney inspection and cleaning are complete, we pick up our equipment, write out our inspection report and go over the details of the report with our customers. The chimney inspection and sweep typically takes about 35 minutes; it can take longer if there is an insert or if the chimney is exceptionally dirty.
